Special forces of the State Criminal Police Office (LKA) in Lower Saxony have detained three individuals aged between 18 and 34 in Peine after an assault on an 80-year-old senior. These suspects were taken into custody, as announced by the authorities on Friday.
Apparently, they are accused of brutally attacking an 80-year-old man in his home in Lachendorf (Celle district) in mid-April and making threats. The investigators were able to track down these individuals through a thorough analysis of evidence left at the crime scene and extensive research.
Four different locations were searched, leading to the collection of crucial evidence. The police are now examining whether these same individuals are involved in any other crimes in Lower Saxony.
As per previous police reports, two masked men approached the 80-year-old at the front door, forced their way into the apartment, and threatened him. They demanded money from the victim. During their pursuit of valuables, the assailants vandalized the senior's home and a nearby pub before making their getaway on foot. It remains unknown what, if any, loot they managed to steal.
