Arrest warrants for three suspected con artists

Three suspected con artists and their alleged accomplice are in custody in Berlin on suspicion of commercial theft. The three women allegedly stole from an 81-year-old woman in Berlin-Prenzlauer Berg, as the Berlin public prosecutor's office announced on Thursday.

Berlin - Arrest warrants for three suspected con artists

Three suspected con artists and their alleged accomplice are in custody in Berlin on suspicion of commercial theft. The three women allegedly stole from an 81-year-old woman in Berlin-Prenzlauer Berg, as the Berlin Public Prosecutor General's Office announced on Thursday.

According to the information, plainclothes detectives had observed the three women, aged 47, 49 and 51, on Tuesday as they approached the senior citizen and accompanied her into a house entrance. A short time later, they left the house again and got into a car in which the 51-year-old suspected accomplice was waiting.

Officers followed the car and others went to find the elderly woman. It was reported that she was missing money and that containers in the apartment had been broken into. Emergency services then stopped the car with the three women and the man. What happened in the 81-year-old's apartment is still being investigated.
