"He is said to represent an extremist Islamist ideology that sees armed jihad as a legitimate means of enforcing ultra-conservative Islamist interests and rejects the values of the liberal democratic basic order," writes the Public Prosecutor General's Office.

According to the information, the arrest warrant was issued last Friday. On Monday, detectives from the Central Franconia police headquarters brought the man before the investigating judge at the Munich Higher Regional Court. The judge ordered that he be remanded in custody.
