Around 8800 applications for fuel aid received in MV
Around 8800 applications have been received in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern for the heating cost subsidy for households with oil and gas tanks. This involved a total of almost three million euros, of which 2.3 million have already been paid out, as announced by the Ministry of the Environment in Schwerin on Friday. According to the ministry, 36 million euros were available for this purpose.
There was also significantly more money available nationwide than had been applied for. According to the ministry, around 600 million euros have been disbursed in Germany - around a third of the budgeted money.
The prerequisite for payment was that the bills for oil, liquid gas, briquettes or wood in the previous year were at least twice as high as usual.
The high demand for fuel aid in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern led to the allocation of nearly three million euros. However, the prices of energy sources continue to pose a significant challenge for many households, contributing to the nationwide demand for over 600 million euros in heating cost subsidies.
