EU Football Tournament - Around 30,000 fewer people are estimated to attend Fanfest.
At the fan festival prior to the commencement of the European Championship, the number of attendees is predicted to be much lower than initially anticipated, as per the organizers. There will be around 30,000 fewer people in attendance, with just 60,000 expected to come when British music sensation Ed Sheeran and singer Nelly Furtado perform on Munich's Theresienwiese on a Wednesday.
"Initially, our plan was for 90,000 spectators, but we've made adjustments since," stated a representative for the FKP Scorpio Concert Productions to the German Press Agency.
The pre-sale for tickets priced at €95 commenced in March. With only a few days to go before the fan festival, which also included performances by Mark Forster, Tim Bendzko, and Dylan, tickets were still for sale for approximately half the price - around €48. "We're currently at approximately 60,000 attendees and will surely surpass this number by the event, as we'll reach the venue's maximum capacity," the show promoter's spokesperson added.
The European Championship commences in Munich on Friday with the first match between Germany and Scotland. "Football and music unite individuals. This unity, in turn, helps to reinforce our society and democracy," stated tournament director and football world champion Philipp Lahm, who had previously met Sheeran.
