Fires - Around 100 firefighters at straw warehouse fire
In the Wittenberg municipality of Kropstadt, more than 100 response forces extinguished the fire of a straw storage. The fire department was alerted late on Friday evening, as the city announced. The straw storage in a hall of an agricultural business had been completely engulfed in flames. Upon arrival of the fire department, the hall roof had collapsed, black smoke clouds rose into the sky.
With the help of numerous response forces, the fire was quickly contained. With telescopic ladders of the company, the straw was pulled apart and extinguished. According to reports, a total of 110 response forces were involved by morning. At least 15 fire departments from neighboring communities were present.
The fire department from Wittenberg, along with several others from neighboring communities in Saxony-Anhalt, were called to assist in putting out the fire. Despite the late response, they managed to contain the fire that had engulfed the entire straw storage in Kropstadt's agricultural business. The operational force worked tirelessly throughout the night, using telescopic ladders to access and extinguish the fire in the collapsed hall.
