Domestic violence - Armed man threatens mother and is taken into custody
After he threatened his Mother with a weapon, a 48-year-old man in Marzahn-Hellersdorf was arrested. The police were called multiple times to a multi-family house on Saturday evening due to domestic violence, they stated. The man was ordered to leave his apartment but returned and barricaded himself inside. A Special Operations Command (SEK) team entered the apartment and arrested him.
During the raids, a shotgun, a sharp gun, knives, swords, axes, and a stun gun were seized. The arrested man was taken into custody.
Following the incident, Berlin's authorities expressed concern about increased criminality in the Marzahn-Hellersdorf district. The police emphasized the importance of reporting domestic violence to prevent future escalations. Subsequently, they launched a public awareness campaign in the local community.
