Police operation - Armed man at Dortmund main station: Arrest
Police officers have arrested an armed man at Dortmund Central Station. As the federal police announced on Sunday, a passer-by had reported on Friday evening that a person was shooting around with a soft air pistol on the forecourt. When the officers confronted the suspect, he stated that there were weapons in his bag. In fact, the officers found a softair pistol with two bullets, a blank pistol without ammunition and a field knife.
The 32-year-old was initially cooperative, but suddenly resisted during the search and insulted the officers. He was therefore provisionally arrested. Preliminary proceedings were initiated against the man for resisting law enforcement officers and violating the Weapons Act.

The incident at Dortmund main station on Friday evening raised concerns about criminality in North Rhine-Westphalia. Despite initial cooperation, the suspect's actions during the search led to charges of resisting law enforcement officers and violating the Weapons Act. The federal police, who conducted the operation, have a history of dealing with such cases in the region. Sunday's arrest serves as a reminder of the importance of adhering to weapons laws and cooperating with authorities, as demonstrated in other notable cases in North Rhine-Westphalia.
