- Armed Incident at Bundesliga Match - Law Enforcement Official Faces Trial
A law enforcement officer is scheduled to stand trial starting from Tuesday, facing accusations of discharging his duty weapon close to a stadium during a Bundesliga game between Augsburg and Mönchengladbach. The officer is being indicted for causing bodily harm by negligence in the line of duty and property damage at the Augsburg Regional Court.
As per the prosecution's claims, the bullet from the officer's service weapon went through a police vehicle where numerous officers were stationed, along with an unoccupied Mönchengladbach supporter bus. Several police personnel were alarmed by the explosion.
The indictment against the officer will be heard at the Augsburg Regional Court, which is part of the broader judicial system, specifically the Court of First Instance. Following the trial at the Court of First Instance, any appeals would need to be made to higher courts if deemed necessary.
