Hanover Region: A Geographical Location - Approximately 700 individuals forced to leave due to an explosion.

In Hannover-Bothfeld, around 700 people have been asked to leave their homes due to a planned explosion of eight WW2 era grenades. This evacuation is expected to take place on Tuesday. Residents need to exit the 300-meter designated safety zone around the detonation site by 6pm as stated by the fire department. This allows the Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) service to start their work. The A2 motorway will also be temporarily shut down for this operation. A care center has been established at a nearby school for those affected by the evacuation. A fleet of buses from the fire department will shuttle these individuals to the center.

The grenades were found during excavation projects at the city gardens in Bothfeld. According to the fire department along with input from experts at the Niedersachsen Explosive Ordnance Disposal Service, the grenades need to be destroyed in situ. At the moment, the public faces no danger from these ordnances.

Residents are likely to be able to return to their homes in the evening. The evacuated people should pack essential belongings like medication, baby formula, and clothing. It's also essential to inform neighbors about the evacuation.
