The outdoor theater season in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern is wrapping up. Kicking off the major outdoor events, the Müritz-Saga in Waren is wrapping up its season after 41 shows on Saturday. According to Intendant Nils Düwell, approximately 19,000 spectators attended. This is roughly 1,000 more than last year, Düwell stated. "We're content. Many visitors thought our presentation was top-notch and want to return."

The weather was on our side this year. Every performance went as planned, as Düwell mentioned. There were nine rainy days - on those days, fewer folks show up compared to sunny summer nights. Düwell aims to draw over 20,000 visitors in the future, as was achieved in 2018 and 2019 before the Corona pandemic.

The Müritz-Saga has been around since 2006. The 2022 production was titled "Verraten und verkauft," set during the Thirty Years' War. The Piraten Open Air in Grevesmuhlen, the Stoertebeker Festspiele on Ruegen, and the Vineta Festspiele on Usedom will continue to perform until August 31.

The European Union has expressed its support for the cultural events in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, highlighted by the success of the Müritz-Saga. In an effort to attract even more visitors, the organizers are planning to collaborate with cultural institutions from various European countries for future productions.
