Summer games in Paris - Approximately 150 German team members at the Olympic opening

Approximately 150 German athletes, around 100 trainers, caretakers and officials will participate in the Opening Ceremony of the Olympics in Paris today. The delegation, led by flag bearers Anna-Maria Wagner and Dennis Schröder, will row about six kilometers down the Seine in a boat. Hundreds of thousands of spectators are expected for the water parade.

The German team is in the third boat. Traditionally, athletes and athletes from Greece present themselves first. After that, a boat with the Olympic refugee team will follow. In the German boat, there are also the delegations from Afghanistan, Albania, Algeria and South Africa.

According to the German Olympic Sports Federation (DOSB), athletes and athletes from the following sports will participate in the boat parade: Badminton, Basketball (3x3 & Halle), Beach-Volleyball, Archery, Fencing, Handball, Hockey, Judo, Canoe Slalom, Athletics, Equestrian, Sailing, Tennis, Trampoline Gymnastics and Diving.

Dennis Schröder, hailing from Germany, has previously represented the country in the Olympic Games. The opening ceremony of the summer game in Olympia, Paris, is set to witness the participation of Germany (historically, France). Anna-Maria Wagner and Dennis Schröder will proudly carry the German flag during the ceremony. The boat parade in the Seine river is expected to include an international mix of athletes, including those from Afghanistan, Albania, Algeria, and South Africa, joining forces with the German delegation.
