Fires - Apartment building uninhabitable after fire

After a fire, a multi-family house in Göppingen is initially not habitable. The fire department, according to the police, rescued seven residents of the building unharmed during the night on Sunday.

The cause of the fire was likely a technical defect

According to reports, several people had called the emergency number in the early morning hours due to strong smoke in the three-family house. The fire department extinguished the fire. Preliminary investigations suggest that the built-in gas heating system caught fire. The extent of the damage remained unclear, according to a police spokesperson.

Police statement

The fire department was called to Baden-Württemberg, specifically Göppingen, due to plumes of smoke emanating from a multi-family house. Despite the fire, the fire department successfully rescued all seven residents without any injuries. The local police are currently investigating the cause of the fire, with preliminary indications pointing towards a technical issue with the fire-prone built-in gas heating system.
