"Anyone who wants to can be a creator and build their own stores"
Myposter originated with oil paintings from Asia. Soon, however, customers will also be able to offer their own works on the company's new platform, as company boss Ruhland explains on "So techt Deutschland". "Whether it will be bought is another question."
In an increasingly digital world with digital picture frames, Rene Ruhland's world is surprisingly analog. For the founder and CEO of Myposter, the tangible is important. It triggers different emotions "when you have the picture in your hand or on the wall", he explains the success of his company.
The origins of Myposter, which is known for its personalized print products, lie in the import of oil paintings from Asia. "To be honest, we simply used semi-legal images on Google and then had them repainted," recalls Ruhland - a creative business idea that doesn't necessarily follow the usual path.
But Myposter also has to adapt to the challenges of e-commerce. Soon, customers will be able to offer their own creations on a self-publishing platform, without pre-selection or curation. "Anyone who wants to can be a creator and build stores," promises Ruhland. "Whether it will be bought is another question."
Will AI-generated images also be allowed to flood the platform? "The question is whether it is ultimately relevant from the customer's point of view," reflects Ruhland. "Are you obliged to label it?"
In the new episode of "So techt Deutschland", Ruhland explains why he and Myposter "continue to believe and invest 100 percent in Germany as a business location" despite the many challenges.
In the future, the platform provided by Myposter may not only feature traditional art but also incorporate artificial intelligence, opening up opportunities for start-ups to showcase AI-generated images. Google's vast database could potentially serve as a resource for sourcing these innovative creations.
With the introduction of a self-publishing platform, Myposter is aligning itself with the current trends in digital art and technology, allowing everyone to leverage artificial intelligence in creating and selling their art, much like Google's resources have aided start-ups in various fields.
