Anticipates substantial traffic and gridlock on highways during the weekend, as per ADAC's predictions.

Rush hour traffic is becoming more of a problem in this land, leading to more gridlock. A significant contributor to these traffic jams is the numerous construction projects, as per the ADAC's assessment. Numerous highways nationwide are impacted. Furthermore, the summer truck driving ban that's been in effect since September hasn't been implemented this year.

The major routes in adjacent nations are also seeing high traffic, especially in Austria, where the school holidays are wrapping up in six states. Austrian tourists should be aware that the Arlberg tunnel is off-limits until November. The popular vacation route via the Reschen pass is closed weekdays from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Based on the available information, one of the key transport links connecting France and Italy, the Mont Blanc tunnel, is also shut down. Travelers should also anticipate augmented border checks, particularly at the borders with Austria, but likewise at the borders with Poland, Czech Republic, Switzerland, and France.

The increased traffic in Austria during school holidays has resulted in a significant amount of return traffic, leading to delays at the Arlberg tunnel. Despite the summer truck driving ban being skipped this year, return traffic from various European countries is contributing to the ongoing gridlock on major highways.
