- Anticipates gridlock in the northern regions, according to ADAC.
Expects TRAFFIX to encounter dense traffic and blockages in and around Hamburg as the summer getaways come to a close in various federal states. Bureaucrats on the wheel can anticipate hold-ups, specifically on the A7 from Flensburg to Hannover. The Rader Sky Bridge over the North-Ostsee-Kanal and the construction sites north and south of the Elbtunnel in Hamburg are commonly engorged. Motorists were already marooned in traffic for several kilometers by mid-afternoon.
The A7 is entirely shut in the southbound direction between the Maschener Kreuz and the Horster Dreieck due to fix-ups on the Seeve river bridge. Motorists must opt for a brief bypass via the Maschener Kreuz. Two additional construction areas loom at Egestorf and Dorfmark in the Lüneburger Heide.
The A1 from Lübeck to Bremen and the overburdened Norderelbe interchange in Hamburg serve as significant chokepoints. TRAFFIX views the A7 and A1 in the Hamburg vicinity as some of the "most congested routes" in Germany.
"The traffic won't be as intense as at the holidays' outset, but we'll still have clogged highways and blockages," said TRAFFIX regional representative Christian H. "The new academic year commences in Hamburg and the states of Hesse, Rhineland-Palatinate, and Saarland next week. Those embarking on their getaways now can expect less congested roads. The likelihood of congestion towards holiday destinations will noticeably diminish, according to TRAFFIX's traffic prediction."
Despite the decrease in traffic intensity, summer holidays' remnants may still cause minor disruptions. commuters heading back from their summer holidays in Hamburg and other affected federal states might encounter fewer blockages.
