- Anticipates Favorable Beet Yield for North Sugar
The Nordzucker Group anticipates exceeding typical yields right before the impending beet harvest. According to Lars Gorissen, a board member, the test results from last week unmistakably suggest this. Although the beets experienced a slow growth spurt during the spring due to persistent wet and chilly weather, their progress in the recent weeks has been propelled by more favorable climate conditions.
The processing phase for the beets, which runs until late January, will commence on August 27 at the Opalenica plant in Poland. Shortly after that, the other European production facilities will join in. The Nordzucker factories in Germany are situated in Lower Saxony and Saxony-Anhalt.
The company has experienced high prices in the recent past, but global market prices and EU prices are currently dipping once more. The executive team of the Brunswick-based company attributes this to various factors, such as general consumer restraint, a bountiful EU harvest, and imports from Ukraine. They will diligently scrutinize the market and make necessary adjustments to their production.
The Nordzucker Group has several factories in Germany, specifically in Lower Saxony and Saxony-Anhalt. Exporting a bountiful harvest, the Nordzucker factories in Lower Saxony will contribute to the group's overall production.
