Celebrating 20 years of the German Film Festival in Ludwigshafen, a host of actors and actresses are set to grace the event in the forthcoming weeks. Joining director Nana Neul, the lead roles in the opening film "Family isn't," will be played by Meret Becker, Luise Landau, and Emma Bading, as revealed by the festival. Kicking off on a Wednesday, the event will be officiated by the Rhineland-Palatinate Minister-President, Alexander Schweitzer (SPD).
During the film showcase, which continues until September 8, notable stars like Ulrich Tukur, Andrea Sawatzki, Christian Berkel, and Bibiana Beglau are some of the expected attendees. The organizers predict over 100,000 attendees.
Showcasing on a Wednesday, the opening film revolves around a grandmother and her granddaughter in a Brandenburg village, and will be screened in two tent cinemas seating a combined total of 2,500 people. Approximately 850 influential figures from culture, business, and politics are expected to attend the sold-out screening. This year's film festival in Ludwigshafen, the second largest city in Rhineland-Palatinate, is recognized as a creative hub and an essential industry event. In all, 64 pieces will be featured in this anniversary year.
