- Anticipated Move of Moukoko to Nice Not Completed Yet
The near completion of Youssoufa Moukoko's shift from Borussia Dortmund to French club OGC Nice is imminent. BVB has allowed him a day off from training - "for discussions with another club," as the Dortmund team declared. According to media sources, the 19-year-old has reportedly undergone a medical examination on the French Riviera, following an apparent agreement between both clubs on Monday for a loan deal with an option to buy.
Moukoko has faced limited playing time at BVB due to the intense competition in the striker position. He was previously connected with Betis Sevilla. He was omitted from the Dortmund squad for the initial two competitive matches of this season.
Former BVB and Nice coach Favre endorses Moukoko's move
Former BVB coach Lucien Favre, who has managed OGC Nice twice, supports the acquisition of Moukoko. "I didn't manage him for long, and he didn't always start, but he has a lot to offer: speed, scoring ability. There's still room for improvement, but it's a good move for Nice. He still has the potential to explode."
In the meantime, new arrival Serhou Guirassy engaged in partial team training for the first time. The former Stuttgart striker has yet to make his debut for his new club due to a knee injury. However, he is anticipated to do so in September.
Moukoko seems excited about joining a club where he can potentially have more playing time, expressing his appreciation for Favre's endorsement of his move to Nice.
With Favre's backing and Moukoko's talent, fans of Nice can look forward to some nice finishing touches from the young striker in their upcoming matches.
