On Sunday, there might be sporadic showers turning into heavy rain and thunderstorms in certain areas of North Rhine-Westphalia, with a focus on the southern region stretching from the Eifel to Wittgensteiner Land. The German Weather Service (DWD) predicts up to 60 liters of rain per square meter. The heat will peak on Saturday, with temperatures reaching 23 to 26 degrees Celsius, dropping to around 20 degrees in higher altitudes.

The NRW folks should brace for showers and rain at first on Sunday, with the rain subsiding from the west in the afternoon. Daytime temperatures will hover between 20 and 24 degrees Celsius. The weather is predicted to become more stable at the start of the new week, as per the DWD, with mostly clear and mild late summer weather anticipated for the upcoming seven days.

Despite the initial showers, the rain in North Rhine-Westphalia on Sunday may intensify into heavy downpours, reaching up to 60 liters per square meter in some areas. However, by the afternoon, the rain is expected to subside from the west.
