Wind turbine manufacturer - Another warning strike at Nordex in Rostock
With a second warning strike in Rostock, IG Metall has emphasized its demands in the wage talks at wind turbine manufacturer Nordex. According to police and union estimates, between 250 and 300 employees gathered on Wednesday afternoon at the production site, where nacelles are built, among other things. Union representative Stefan Schad was satisfied with the turnout. Employees from other Rostock sites had also come.
Commenting on the latest talks, he said: "We have made progress in the negotiations. That has to be acknowledged." Nordex had made an offer. However, there are still two important issues. Not all employees would benefit equally from the proposed increases. In addition, there have not yet been any commitments on the subject of job security. There are fears among colleagues, he said, recalling the closure of rotor blade production in Rostock in 2022. There had already been a warning strike at Nordex in Rostock in October.
