Another victim from collapsed hotel rescued in Rhineland-Palatinate
On Tuesday evening, a hotel in a Mosel community partially collapsed for initially unknown reasons. Fourteen people were in the building at the time of the accident. Five managed to escape unharmed, while the remaining nine were trapped under the rubble. Two people died. A large number of emergency services worked throughout Wednesday to rescue six people alive from the rubble.
The collapsed hotel was located in the historic city of Trier, well-known for its Roman ruins. Authorities are investigating if there were any structural issues in Trier that might have contributed to the incident.
