Bundesliga 2 - Another tough test for 1. FC Magdeburg against Düsseldorf

The cup rematch against Fortuna Düsseldorf will be a real endurance test for 1. FC Magdeburg. "I'm expecting an exciting game. Frustration no longer plays a role, but we want to go into the game with a lot of energy. We would be very well advised to stick to our game," said FCM head coach Christian Titz ahead of this Saturday's second division clash (13:00/Sky) against the fifth-placed team in the table. Titz sees the opponent as very consistent. "A strong opponent who has several facets to his game. The way they build up their game, go into the transition and try to dominate through their center is very good."

After all, the Elbe club, who are twelfth in the table, have yet to score against Fortuna in their three competitive matches to date. Düsseldorf won the last league match in the MDCC Arena 2:1 in the pre-season, and a few days ago, the Rhinelanders defeated Magdeburg 2:1 in the last 16 of the DFB Cup despite leading 1:0.

"It was a bitter defeat in the cup because we got the goals at a time when the game was actually over," said Titz, looking back on the missed opportunity, where FCM squandered everything in the final six minutes. However, the late equalizer in the last away game in Fürth (1:1) by Mohammed El Hankouri (90.+5) was "extremely important for self-confidence and the mood," said Titz.
