In Cologne, there has been another explosion at a multi-family home. There are no reported injuries, but doors and windows were damaged, according to a police spokesperson. The crime scene investigation was still in progress on Monday morning. The house is located in the Zündorf district. The explosion is believed to have occurred overnight.

The police, as they have done previously, are investigating possible connections to several explosions that have taken place in recent weeks. Detonations have occurred in Cologne, as well as in Engelskirchen and Duisburg. Preliminary police reports suggest that at least some of the explosions, as well as a recent hostage situation in Cologne, are linked to disputes between drug gangs, some of which are based in the Netherlands. This has raised fears of further such incidents.

Explosions at residential entrances are a common tactic used by Dutch drug dealers, often referred to as the "Mocro-Mafia". Michael Mertens, the head of the police union (GdP) in North Rhine-Westphalia, told dpa in July: "The Dutch drug mafia is already here, and NRW, as a transport hub, is a key location. What we need to understand is that these are extremely brutal criminals."

The police are exploring potential ties between the recent explosions and disputes among drug gangs, some of which have a base in the Netherlands. Unfortunately, these drug gangs have been known to use explosions at residential entrances as a tactic, a common method employed by Dutch drug dealers.
