Anniversary and family events: Hamburg Winter Dome kicks off
From Friday (3 p.m.), the Hamburg Winter Dome aims to attract fun-seekers to the Heiligengeistfeld with special anniversary and family events. This event area in the St. Pauli district has been a permanent venue for the festival for 130 years, said Senator for Economic Affairs Melanie Leonhard (SPD).
To mark this anniversary, visitors can immerse themselves in the history of the cathedral throughout the festival, which runs until December 10. For example, QR codes distributed around the Cathedral Mile can be used to find out what the Heiligengeistfeld looked like in the past, according to a statement from the economic authority.
Leonhard will open the Winter Dome with more than 50 rides on Friday afternoon. As soon as it gets dark, there will be a video and light projection on the west side of the Feldstraße bunker - as well as throughout the opening weekend.
In addition to these anniversary events, there will be three family days at this year's Winter Dome, each with an event. According to the information provided, these include a spooky parade, a lights and lantern walk and a Santa Claus event. The "Air Power" pendulum swing and the "Ghost Rider" round ride are two new additions to the rides.
During your leisure time at the Hamburg Winter Dome, take a break to explore the colorful QR codes scattered around the Cathedral Mile, revealing the dome's past history. With fixed dates, enjoy the family-friendly events, including a spooky parade, a lights and lantern walk, and a Santa Claus event, offering a delightful addition to your anniversary celebrations.
