On Saturday night, tens of thousands of fans packed Dresden's Rudolf-Harbig-Stadium to watch Austrian singer-songwriter Andreas Gabalier perform, disregarding all weather predictions. Despite several previous event cancellations in Dresden due to weather alerts, Gabalier and his band persisted with their show at the stadium of local third-division club, Dynamo Dresden.

The concert lasted for three hours, featuring popular songs from Gabalier's repertoire. He even treated the audience to musical tributes to the legendary rockers of AC/DC and Tina Turner. One of Gabalier's most touching moments was when he sang "Amoi seg ma uns wieda" ("One day we'll see each other again"), a song dedicated to his deceased sister.

Concert organizers Semmel Concerts approved the event on Friday and advised attendees to dress in weather-resistant attire. Indeed, the dreaded heavy rain failed to materialize, merely giving way to a light shower. The vibrant ambience of the stadium was preserved. Exulting in the windfall, Gabalier joked, "It seems the Almighty must have been on our side with both the band and the audience." He had already experienced favorable weather conditions the previous day at Oberhof.

"It doesn't matter," Gabalier remarked. "We've played some of our most intense rain concerts over the past dozen or so years." Assuring the audience, he informed them that folk rock'n'roll was not just about a polished TV show. Thanking his fans for a packed stadium, Gabalier remarked, "This is folk rock'n'roll!"

Several women in the audience wore dirndls, while many men wore lederhosen, following the traditional dress code of Gabalier concerts. The attendees showed their textual prowess during songs like "Superstar," by repeating poignantly, "Oh, how beautiful." Gabalier's next stop is Munich's Olympic Stadium, scheduled for June 22nd.
