Car accident - An 86-year-old man circuits barrier - high damage expense
A 86-year-old driver disregarded a barrier in the Main-Spessart district of Bavaria, causing damage estimated at least 100,000 Euro. Fortunately, no one was injured, according to the police.
Due to a wine festival, a place was blocked off in Triefenstein-Homburg on Saturday. The driver simply drove around the barrier and shortly thereafter lost control of his car. A police spokesperson reported that the man may have lost control for medical reasons. The 86-year-old drove straight into a wall, pushing twelve tires against each other and partially damaging the wall.
The car was wedged between the wall and a tree. Due to falling wall parts, nearby properties and a water pipeline were damaged. An ambulance attended to the driver and the alcohol test came back negative.
