Edibles and beverages - Among the 40 largest breweries in the world, two are situated in Bavaria.

The world's 40 largest breweries saw a decline in beer production last year, with a 2.2% drop to 162 billion liters, says BarthHaas - a leading hops supplier based in Nuremberg. They shared this figure on Tuesday. However, there's one brewery that bucked the trend - Paulaner Group from Bavaria, which saw a 5.7% increase to 634 million liters. This move helped them secure the 28th spot.

Unfortunately, five other German breweries are dealing with decreasing outputs. This includes the second Bavarian brewery, Oettinger Group, which remains at 25th position with 750 million liters. Germany's top brewery, Radeberger Group, also experienced a decline in production but still holds the 22nd spot with 1.08 billion liters. Germany's giants are dwarfed by the industry's big players like AB InBev, which leads the pack with over 50 billion liters.

The remaining German breweries in the list include TCB, Krombacher, and Bitburger, holding down spots 30 to 32. This ranking is released annually and involves estimates.

BarthHaas has shared these insights on the world's largest breweries for us to sip on. Cheers! 🍻🍺✨
