- Alteration to Eintracht Frankfurt's Theatrical Performance Succeeds
Eintracht Frankfurt has brought in Belgian international defender Arthur Theate. The young central defender joins from Ligue 1 side Stade Rennes on loan until the end of this season, with an option to buy from the Bundesliga club based in Hesse.
Theate is set to take over from Ecuadorian Willian Pacho, who left for Paris Saint-Germain for approximately 40 million euros last week. Coach Dino Toppmöller praised the 24-year-old, saying, "He's someone who is ready to take on leadership roles, despite his young age." Toppmöller added, "He's a player who will greatly benefit our team." However, Theate won't make his debut in Monday evening's DFB-Pokal match against Eintracht Braunschweig.
Value-wise, Theate is estimated to be worth around 20 million euros in the market.
Top executive Markus Krösche explained, "We've been closely monitoring Arthur Theate for a long time now. Last season, a financial obstacle prevented us from completing this transfer."
