We don't carry any title favorites tag. In my opinion, that mantle belongs to FC Bayern Munich," Alonso, a former Bayern player, shared before Leverkusen's Bundesliga opener against Borussia Mönchengladbach (8:30 PM/DAZN and Sat.1). Alonso emphasizes a solid start at Borussia Park as his initial objective. "We aim to kickstart the season on a high note. Our aim is to secure a spot in the top 4," the Spanish coach clarified.
Regarding the squad, coach Alonso is satisfaction guaranteed following the Supercup game last weekend. Martin Terrier, who joined recently, and Victor Boniface, who served suspensions due to foul play and poor sportsmanship in cup games, are ready to contribute.
