Seniors - Almost 32,000 new pensioners in Schleswig-Holstein
Approximately 32,000 Schleswig-Holstein women and men received a pension from the statutory pension insurance for the first time last year. This is about 3,200 more than in 2022, according to Deutsche Rentenversicherung Nord, who announced this in Lübeck on Thursday. Most of them, around 14,200, went into retirement because they had reached the statutory retirement age. This age is currently 66 years and 2 months for the birth year 1959. The statutory retirement age will gradually increase to 67 years until 2031.
"The Baby Boomer generation is increasingly reaching retirement age, which is evident in significantly increasing numbers," said Sebastian Bollig, spokesperson for Deutsche Rentenversicherung Nord. They have 0.3% of the pension amount deducted per month for early retirement benefits.
