Almost 16 hours of overtime per police officer in Saxony
Police officers in Saxony worked an average of 15.8 hours overtime in September. This was reported by the Saxon Ministry of the Interior on request. From June to July, the figure was even higher, at 16.9 hours per person.
Overall, the amount of overtime worked by police officers has not changed significantly in recent years, it said. According to the Ministry of the Interior, experience shows that the number of overtime hours is subject to fluctuations: Officers build up overtime at the beginning of the year and reduce it towards the end of the year.
The high overtime hours can potentially lead to significant statistics regarding police officer health and well-being. Analyzing these statistics could provide valuable insights for policymakers aiming to improve work conditions.
