- Allocating Millions for Rural Progress - Recognition of 34 Rural Municipalities
In Thuringia, there's an influx of extra millions from the local, national, and EU administrations into rural improvement projects. A whopping 34 rural communities and municipalities in this state stand a chance to receive these funds, as per the Ministry of Agriculture's announcement. These include the Forstberg village region (Unstrut-Hainich district), Oberheldrungen town (Kyffhäuser district), and the Frankenhain village in the Geratal municipality (Ilm district). Nine new key areas have been identified. Utilizing these funds, buildings can be refurbished, or kindergartens and youth clubs can be expanded.
Projects emphasizing social harmony, enhancing fundamental provisions, and sustainable community growth are being particularly backed. As Susanna Karawanskij (Left), Thuringia's Minister for Infrastructure and Agriculture, put it, "These and other projects make our villages more appealing culturally and socially."
Every year, approximately 30 million euros are invested in rural development in Thuringia by the local, national, and EU administrations. This recognition is valid for the funding period ranging from 2025 to 2029. With recognition, municipalities are eligible to apply for funding from the program. The allocation of funds from each source has yet to be disclosed.
This rural development program serves as one of the key policies by the state government to bolster the rural sector. Around 30 million euros are available for investment each year. Last year, recognition was granted for ten new funding priorities with a duration of 2024 to 2028.
