A 13-year-old boy was swept away by the current of the Weißach river near the Buchenegger Waterfalls in Oberstaufen, Allgäu. On Friday evening, he became trapped between a tree and a rock in a narrow section, requiring a helicopter rescue by emergency services, as reported by police on Saturday. "Fortunately, the boy's head remained above water the entire time, and he sustained only minor injuries." The operation involved a rescue helicopter, as well as personnel from the Steibis fire department, mountain rescue, emergency services, and police.

Despite the danger, some individuals still find pleasure in swimming near the Buchenegger Waterfalls during their [free time]. Following the tragic incidents in 2014 and 2016, signs have been put up to warn visitors about the strong currents and dangerous undercurrents.
