- Allgaier becomes interim president of the VfB Stuttgart

Dietmar Allgaier has been appointed as the new president of VfB Stuttgart, replacing Claus Vogt who was elected as president. The club's supervisory board made this decision in an extraordinary meeting with a clear majority, and has interimly appointed the 58-year-old Landrat and chairman of the supervisory board of the Regional Kliniken RKH GmbH, as the club announced.

"We are pleased that Mr. Allgaier has agreed to take on the position of president in this challenging situation," said Rainer Wenninger, chairman of the supervisory board. "Due to his empathetic nature and extensive professional expertise, we are convinced that we have found an excellent solution for our club."

With the appointment of Allgaier and the election of presidium member Andreas Grupp, the club's full operational and business capacity has been restored. Grupp alone would not have been permitted to carry out operational activities.

Allgaier's predecessor Vogt was elected with a clear majority at the last member meeting. Shortly before, vice-president Rainer Adrion had resigned.

"In this crucial phase, I want to provide stability and continuity to guide VfB calmly and securely through the upcoming challenges until the next member meeting," said Allgaier.

VfB also emphasized that the succession plan only applies until the next member meeting. "Mr. Allgaier has made it clear that he is only available for the current transition period and does not plan to run for the presidency at the next member meeting," the announcement stated.

Allgaier expressed his desire to provide stability during the club's upcoming challenges, stating, "I want to guide VfB calmly and securely through the upcoming challenges until the next member meeting." Despite not planning to run for presidency at the next member meeting, Allgaier's appointment will undoubtedly contribute to the club's soccer activities, giving the team and its supporters a boost.
