Investigators have discovered new claims against AfD Bundestag representative Petr Bystron in connection with money laundering and bribery suspicions. As per recent dpa information, it is believed that Bystron may have employed a fraudulent address in his Langwied, Munich constituency. It is further alleged that monetary funds were exchanged.

Initial reports on these latest allegations were made by Spiegel and ZDF. Bystron vehemently denied the accusation that the address was false when asked.

On Tuesday, Bystron made a statement indicating that he had a legal rental contract. However, he confirmed that he was unable to move into the apartment due to resistance from the landlord. Bystron declared that he would relocate once he was given the green light by the legal authorities. He dismissed the allegations as a campaign that aimed to "harm me and the AfD during elections."

The Munich Prosecutor's Office has not reacted to the recent accusations. The ongoing probe involves investigations in Berlin, Bavaria, and Mallorca. The principle of presumption of innocence stands until the end of the judicial process.

Bystron's parliamentary immunity was revoked mid-May by The Bundestag, following the announcement from the Munich Prosecutor's Office which was investigating him on account of bribery and money laundering. Authorities conducted searches in his parliamentary office in Berlin, among other locations. Bystron alleges that the proceedings against him are politically motivated and expects them to be dismissed "once the elections are concluded."

Bystron, along with the AfD's renowned candidate for the European elections, Maximilian Krah, has found himself in the media spotlight due to vague associations with pro-Russian networks. Media allegations posit that prosecutors are exploring possible payments to both figures. Following the search efforts, Bystron temporarily ceased campaigning for the AfD - claiming that it was due to personal reasons.
