- Alleged burglar endeavors to escape police by speeding away on A2

Along the A2 highway, transitioning from Lower Saxony to Saxony-Anhalt, a guy in a hijacked car attempted to dodge the law enforcement by racing at speeds reaching 250 km/h. According to Hildesheim's police department, the driver disregarded the halt signs and endeavored to shed the authorities by reaching such peak velocities. Consequently, a 35-kilometer long chase ensued, crossing state borders, eventually concluding at an exit in Marienborn, Saxony-Anhalt. Subsequently, the 39-year-old driver departed the highway and wound up in a cul-de-sac in Hakenstedt, Landkreis Börde.

The subject was apprehended on foot by the law enforcers. The individual under suspicion, hailing from Eastern Europe with no recorded residence in Germany, is suspected of pilfering the expensive vehicle in the Lower Saxon town of Ahrbergen. At present, he remains in custody, awaiting further scrutiny.

The hijacked car was the vehicle the suspect was trying to escape in. Later, the police confiscated the car as evidence.
