Alexander Zverev's personal injury trial in Berlin has been halted.
In 2023, Zverev was ordered to pay a €450,000 penalty by the district court amidst a controversy. Following this, Zverev filed an appeal to challenge the decision. The appeal led to a trial in the same district court where Zverev's lawyer strongly defended him against the accusations. The lawyer asserted that the accusations were baseless, incredulous, and contradictory.
Fast forwards to 2024, a settlement was reached regarding the case. Zverev was asked to pay €200,000 to undo the case. Out of this, €150,000 would be contributed to the state treasury, while the remaining €50,000 would be donated to a charity supporting non-profit organizations. The decision was gladly accepted by both the public prosecutor and the co-defendants involved in the proceedings, with them all agreeing to the discontinuation of the case.
