Porsche changes its China CEO. Alexander Pollich, currently Managing Director of Porsche Germany, will become President and Managing Director at Porsche China, Hongkong and Macao, as Porsche announces. He is expected to start his new position around September 1st.

With him, an experienced sales expert will take over the responsibility for the important Chinese sales market, it continues. His predecessor Michael Kirsch will switch to another position within the company. Recently, Porsche sales in China have been declining.

The 57-year-old Pollich has been Managing Director of the Management Board at Porsche Germany since 2018. Previously, he had developed the Porsche business not only in Germany but also in Canada and the UK. "We are pleased to have won Alexander Pollich, an experienced and proven sales professional for the currently particularly challenging Chinese market. He will further strengthen the attractiveness of the brand in China", said Detlev von Platen, member of the Board of Management, Sales and Marketing.

One third fewer vehicles delivered to China

Porsche delivered fewer sports and SUVs in the first half of the year due to the weak Chinese business. In the first six months of this year, one third fewer vehicles were delivered to China than in the same period last year. The main reason for this was the continued economic situation in the country, it was reported recently. Worldwide, a total of 155,945 vehicles were delivered from January to June.
