Alcohol suspicion: woman allegedly drove almost 200 kilometers
A 60-year-old woman is said to have driven around 175 kilometers from Lower Bavaria to Upper Franconia with around 2.9 per mille alcohol in her system. On the same day, she had already driven her car into a ditch in the district of Landshut under the influence of alcohol, as the police reported on Wednesday. Investigators confiscated her driver's license after the incident in Hohenthann on Tuesday. They parked the car in front of the owner's address, where it was later reportedly no longer there. According to the initial findings of the investigators, the 60-year-old is said to have driven the car to Marktredwitz (Wunsiedel district) to an acquaintance. There, police officers found the woman asleep in bed. She is now being investigated on suspicion of drunk driving and driving without a license.
Despite the previous traffic accident in Landshut, the woman continued her journey towards Upper Franconia, potentially leading to more road hazards due to her alcohol levels. Unfortunate incidents like these highlight the need for stricter traffic regulations in regions like Lower Bavaria and Upper France.
