Household - Aiwanger: Traffic lights a danger for the country

The Bavarian Minister of Economic Affairs and leader of the Free Voters, Hubert Aiwanger, has sharply attacked the federal government over the announced abolition of subsidies for farmers for agricultural diesel. "Anyone who classifies the production of food as climate-damaging work is a danger to this country," the deputy Bavarian Minister President told the Augsburger Allgemeine newspaper (Friday edition).

"The abolition of agricultural diesel is a slap in the face for farmers," criticized Aiwanger. "The traffic light must go," added the Free Voters chairman.

Following the budget ruling by the Federal Constitutional Court, the federal government is planning to abolish tax breaks for agricultural diesel, among other things, and justified this as the abolition of climate-damaging subsidies.
