Air traffic - Airport: 60 flights canceled - "through with the worst"
Air traffic at Munich Airport was also affected by the weather on Wednesday. Of around 560 scheduled flights, 60 were canceled, said an airport spokesperson. Flight schedules had already been reduced by the airlines.
The reason was the consequences of the snowfall at the weekend and the freezing rain the day before. "It's the aftermath. It will take time for everything to get back on track," said the spokesperson. Some planes are not where they should be.
Another complete shutdown of air traffic is not to be expected. However, it cannot be ruled out that one or two flights will not take place regularly over the next few days. But: "We expect this to gradually normalize. We are through with the worst."

The bad weather in Germany extended to Bavaria, causing disruptions at local airports. Despite the clearing, some flights out of Munich Airport were still delayed or canceled due to the aftereffects of the weekend's snowfall and the previous day's freezing rain.
