A buddy of a commercial plane's co-pilot reported a laser assault as they drew near to Karlsruhe/Baden-Baden Airport, situated in Rheinmunster (Rastatt district). Upon landing, the aircraft carrying 180 travelers was compelled to loop, as reported by a police representative. The aircraft was hit by a laser twice at brief intervals.

Luckily, neither the pilot nor the co-pilot sustained injuries. By scrutinizing the video footage, authorities pinpointed the origin of the attack to Kehler district, Neumuhl, Ortenaukreis, on a Wednesday. Police are investigating, and the offender might face a prison term ranging from half a year to a decade due to putting air traffic in danger.

The incident was not limited to the plane, as other nearby aircraft reported similar incidents due to the widespread use of laser pointers. The laser assault was not an isolated incident in the area, with previous reports of such incidents in the same Ortenaukreis district.
