Air Traffic Control Service Provider DFS, based in Langen close to Frankfurt am Main, has experienced a digital intrusion. "Our internal communications have been breached, we're currently playing defense," a representative from DFS shared with Deutsche Presse-Agentur. Steps are being taken to lessen the damage. Flights continue to operate as usual with no interruptions. This was initially reported by Bayerischer Rundfunk.

As reported by DFS, the attack occurred a week prior. The extent of data theft is still unclear at this time. The relevant authorities have been notified, the spokesperson mentioned.

The digital intrusion at DFS was identified as a hacking attempt. Despite the breach, the hackers have not disrupted the air traffic control operations.
