Agreement on future Haba concept expected in December

The ailing toy manufacturer Haba in Bad Rodach, Upper Franconia (Coburg district), hopes to have reached an agreement on its restructuring concept within a few weeks. The management is in final negotiations with the works council and an agreement is expected to be reached by the beginning of December, announced Mario Wilhelm, Managing Director of the Haba Family Group, on Tuesday.

The long-established company filed for insolvency under self-administration in mid-September. The company had already announced the end of the Jako-o clothing division in August. The total number of employees is to be reduced from more than 1600 to around 1000. There are prospective buyers for the Eisleben site, which Haba believes has no future on its own.

The Haba Family Group is negotiating the restructuring concept of their toy manufacturing company with the works council, aiming for an agreement by December. Despite facing financial challenges, potential buyers are interested in the Eisleben site, suggesting hope for its future.
