Tariff dispute - Agreement at large bakeries in Eisleben and Nordhausen
After several warning strikes, the large bakery Aryzta and the Food, Beverages and Catering Union (NGG) have agreed on a new collective wage agreement. After the union, the company also confirmed the agreement on Thursday.
In addition to financial improvements, such as an increase in bonuses for overtime or special payments, the new collective agreement also brings relief for shift work, the union announced. Among other things, there will be an increase in vacation days to at least 30 and compensation for shift work.
The company stated that the new collective agreement was primarily intended to harmonize the production sites in the new and old federal states. In some areas, employees at the Eisleben and Nordhausen sites would even be better off. The company is pleased to have reached an agreement before the holidays.
Aryzta claims to be the European market leader for frozen bakery products. Among other things, the company produces bread rolls and other baked goods for large retail chains and the food service industry. According to the NGG, 1200 employees work at the Eisleben site and 165 in Nordhausen.
