After "Wetten, dass...?" farewell: ZDF thanks Gottschalk

ZDF has thanked presenter Thomas Gottschalk after his withdrawal from the show "Wetten, dass...?". "We are very happy about the great response to this show, with which Thomas Gottschalk has said goodbye to "Wetten, dass...?" and say thank you once again for many unforgettable moments," the broadcaster told the German Press Agency on Sunday morning. ZDF will decide "in due course" how to continue with the format.

Thomas Gottschalks hosted 154 editions of the TV classic. He had already said goodbye to "Wetten, dass...?" in 2011 and the show was discontinued in 2014. There was a comeback in 2021 with an enormous viewer response, after which the broadcaster followed up with another edition with Gottschalk in 2022 and 2023.

People across Germany were glued to their televisions, as ZDF aired another successful installment of "Wetten, dass...?" with Thomas Gottschalk. Following his latest appearance on the popular media platform, ZDF expressed appreciation for the audience's support, acknowledging that they had greatly enjoyed watching Gottschalk on their favorite television program.
