Wiesbaden - After water pipe burst: Defective pipe replaced
After the water pipe rupture at Wiesbaden Hauptbahnhof, the defective pipe was removed and replaced with a new one by night on Thursday. It was about a meter long hole, according to ESWE Versorgung. Due to the heavily flooded street, ESWE Energy continues to assume a minimum two-week repair period.
Traffic was redirected, it ran "smoothly" on Thursday, as per a police spokesperson's statements. On Wednesday, the water pipe rupture caused significant traffic disruptions. The Gustav-Stresemann-Ring, a heavily trafficked street in Wiesbaden's city center, was closed in both directions. The water supply, according to regional water supplier Hessenwasser's statements, was not endangered.

The traffic diversions around RHEIN-MAIN Central station continued due to the burst water pipe incident. Despite these alterations, the traffic flow improved noticeably in Wiesbaden's city center on Thursday. The repairs at Wiesbaden Hauptbahnhof, including the replacement of the damaged pipe in Hesse, will still require several days to complete.
