Handball Bundesliga - After the Löwen's crisis season: Coach Hinze's duty
After a disappointing season in the Handball Bundesliga, Lars Lamade, chairman of the Rhein-Neckar Loewen's supervisory board, is holding Coach Sebastian Hinze accountable. "We expect better performances - and that's the trainer's job," Lamade stated in an interview with "Mannheimer Morgen."
The previous season ended with the two-time German champion finishing only in twelfth place. Subsequently, the club parted ways with commercial manager Jennifer Kettemann.
For the new season, the Nordbadens are strengthening their roster with German national players Sebastian Heymann and Tim Nothdurft, as well as the Croatian Olympic participant Ivan Martinovic. All acquisitions are "wish players" of the trainer, according to Lamade: "Correspondingly, we expect to take a step forward in the table." However, a precise target has not been set yet.
The financial problems that became known in the spring have been "fixed with a powerful move" according to Lamade. "Nobody needs to worry about the Rhein-Neckar Loewen. The club is, in my opinion, financially stable from an economic standpoint," the supervisory board chairman said.
- Sebastian Hinze, under pressure in Baden-Württemberg's Handball Bundesliga, will be expecting improved performances from his Rhine-Neckar Lions squad, which includes new acquisitions like German national players Sebastian Heymann and Tim Nothdurft, as well as Croatian Olympic participant Ivan Martinovic.
- Despite the financial issues that surfaced in the spring, Lars Lamade, the chairman of the Rhein-Neckar Loewen's supervisory board, assured Germany that the club, including their Handball Bundesliga team, is now financially stable.
- Having finished last season in a disappointing twelfth place in the Handball Bundesliga, the Rhine-Neckar Lions from Mannheim have their sights set on climbing up the table for the upcoming season, with their coach, Sebastian Hinze, expecting notable progress thanks to the addition of their new players.
- The Rhine-Neckar Loewen's Supervisory Board, under Lamade's leadership, has high hopes for the Handball Bundesliga start of the Rhine-Neckar Lions, as the new players are considered to be top choices of the coach, Sebastian Hinze, and are expected to contribute significantly to the betterment of the team's performance.
