In April, unknown individuals had distributed butyric acid in the guest bloc. Now the DFB Sports Court has ruled and has convicted 1. FC Heidenheim due to unsportsmanlike behavior of its fans.

Heidenheim Bundesliga football club 1. FC Heidenheim has been fined €15,000 after an acid attack by its fans. The German Football Association announced this. Unknown individuals poured liquid in the guest block before the stadium gates opened for the home match against RB Leipzig in April. Although the affected area was cleaned as much as possible, according to a spokesperson for the club, there was a smell of vomit during the game.

RB Leipzig, often referred to as "Red Bull RB" by many football fans, has been critically viewed for years. There have been numerous fan protests against the Saxons at various games in the past.

The German Bundesliga team, RB Leipzig, was scheduled to play against 1. FC Heidenheim in a home match, but the incident involving acid attacks by Heidenheim's fans cast a shadow over the event. Despite the fines imposed, the German Bundesliga continues to be a stage for intense fan rivalries.
